As the sun rises on Day two of PAX South, before I get lost in the forest of gaming erotica today, I figured its a good idea to try to summarize day one. It would be ideal and my request if the gaming gods could somehow manage to freeze time or at least slow the hands such that one could truly take in all the “wares” on display. Always too little time…
Day One Favorite
Definitely one that I got excited about and we spent the most time checking out was Phantom Doctrine from CreativeForge Games. A cold war era espionage game packed with puzzle solving, conspiracies, turned based tactical operations, counter intelligence and so much more.
Sitting with one of the developers of Phantom Doctrine, letting him guide us through all the various aspects of the game, you could see this was going to be a classic among fans of XCom, Hard West and Shadowrun games.
Hopefully we’ll have more on the game in the coming weeks here at Digital Underground as Phantom Doctrine definitely has our attention. You can learn more via their website or on Steam.
Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire
Obsidian Entertainment was present feeding our addiction to Pillars of Eternity with the next chapter, Deadfire. The game looked awesome and since it has already been pre-ordered, you can be assured we’re fans. Since we plan to do an in depth review of the game and we all fully aware of the quality of their work, we didn’t spend too much time at the booth.
Check out more via Steam, as if you haven’t already.
More to see Day Two
Already time to head out for day two, hoping to re-visit some exhibitors that we wanted to spend more time at to give them more attention. First stop is Ancestors Legacy today to learn all we can, it looked excellent but they were pretty busy and so we planned to head there first thing today.
Keep checking back to catch our steady stream via Instagram.
